Signs?

Woke up relatively late today, but it was PART of the plan. :D Got back from an event at the SU yesterday, One of the Scratch Perverts crew came to do some serious scratching work on turntables, nevertheless I felt he was pretty overrated. Being titled best in the world, I wont know whats better that best then.

Got up late and did some serious following up on the 12th GE, it somewhat brought so much joy and excitement when I saw the opposition are winning seats in good places like bangsar, cheras, klang, pj etc. Not to say I'm a supporter of the opposition but the ruling government acted far too arrogantly, not being able to attend to the peoples need was bad enough but they were living in state of denial. High level of corruption, escalating crime rates, uh, those big shots feel safe for sure when they're being escorted by bodyguards and drivers unlike the commons.

Hence, with the government losing vital states like Selangor, Penang bundled with Perak, Kedah and Kelantan, this was more like a wake up call for the government. Malaysia's so called democratic pratice is far short with phantom voters and postal votes manipulations lingering around. Nevertheless, some people have finally come to their senses and decided to swing away from voting for the government; even phantom voters and rigging of votes cant help.

I still do see some sorta future in Malaysia, a place where I'd proudly call home. Daniel Chua calls it a broken home but a home nevertheless. Some have already lost hope in the country and at the rate its going. To be slightly realistic, the current Malaysians are more dynamic unlike the past. Education would play a part in race binding, back in my high school it was somehow done really well, being different in race did not affect on whether we could be friends and even really close friends.

The question is now whether we can really progress by giving the opposition party a chance, whether the government will work with the opposition. Given BN is still the ruling government, will they channel funds to opposition states equally or adequately in the future? Now seeing, the parliament will have big debates over issues, imagine the govt proposes something and the opposition objects it or vice versa, then when will we ever get anything approved? After all most candidates work for the party and not for the good of the people which they are supposed to be in the first place.

I feel awfully bad for some capable leaders in BN, not to say all are rotten but there are some qualified ones. Do not give up if you're not chosen this GE, prove to the people that you deserve it. IMO, voters have made up their mind by voting for the opposition not because certain leaders were not capable but to show their anger towards the government for not listening to the people. In fact, the government should be afraid of the people and not the other way by using lame shit ass law like the ISA. This is like playing some sorta video game and when you're losing, you active the cheat codes.

This big change in government composition would definately wake BN up, MIC deserve what they are today same goes to DAP with their constant battle in the parliament over the pass few years. Hopefully the opposition is given a chance to prove their worthiness to the people who have elected them. Few years down the road I a strong positive feeling about Malaysia's future.

And also, congratulations to Datuk Seri/Uncle Fong Chan Onn. ;)
